Class X and XII Board examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education starts today, March 5, 2018.
As per reports, more than 28 lakh students would be appearing in the examinations.
- According to a notification from the CBSE, they have decided to implement 33% pass mark criteria for students of class X batch for this year only. This means that the student must secure total 33% which is a total of internal assessment and board exam marks, taken together. As, the board decided to do away with the earlier adopted scheme of Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE) by reintroducing class X board exams. The Board decided to revise the pass marks as this batch is from a different assessment background while they were in class 9.
- This year, CBSE has decided to allow the children with disabilities and special needs to use laptops for their exams. The concerned candidates are expected to bring their duly formatted laptops with prior approval of the Centre Superintendent. Also, the laptop should not have any internet connection to maintain the sanctity of the examination.
- The notice is for students who are suffering from sudden illness just before the examination and is available on the official website of CBSE. However, the candidates will have to submit a certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner for any of the illness.
The board also issued a circular saying that candidates suffering from diabetes can carry eatables inside the examination centers.
