Businessman Objects Rash Driving: Shot Dead in Road Rage

Delhi witnessed a road rage incident on Tuesday early morning in which a businessman on way to his home with his 16-year-old nephew was shot dead after an argument over rash driving. The 43-year-old businessman is identified as Vinod Mehra was driving home from a wedding at GT Karnal Road.

Deputy Commissioner of Police said, “Vinod, the victim was driving his Wagon R when suddenly a van overtook him at around 3 am. An argument started with the occupants of another vehicle who were driving in a rash manner. Both the vehicles stopped at the Bhalaswa flyover where accused pumped bullets into the victim’s chest. The accused then reportedly intercepted Vinod’s car, shot at him and fled.”

The occupants fled from the spot and are yet to be traced. A person returning from the same wedding saw them, stopped on the road and drove the victim to a hospital. Vinod was shot in the chest and immediately was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

This shocking incident took place on the Bhalswa flyover near the GT Karnal road.

“Mr Mehra’s nephew, the only witness to the murder, had noticed the number plate of the van and investigations are on”, the police said.
