The Village Gallery of Delhi stocks works of various big-name artists like MF Husain, Ganesh Pany, Veena Bhargav and Jaishree Burman. Most of the works on display are lithographs, drawings and sketches rather than full-blown paintings. The prices are not obscene, you can get a Husain lithograph for around Rs 2.5 lakhs.

Funded by German embassy’s Max Mueller Bhavan, Delhi’s Green House art gallery has Bare floor, frame-less walls, furniture-less space, and spiral staircases. This brings it closer to the bohemian soul of Hauz Khas Village. Sometimes the gallery is open; sometimes it’s not. Sometimes an exhibition lasts more than a month; sometimes it ends in a week. Sometimes a show is limited to select artists; sometimes anybody can display his or her work. Sometimes the works are for sale; sometimes they aren’t.
