Metro is one of the cheapest and reliable sources of transport for every citizen in the nation. People usually prefer Metro instead of two wheelers or four wheelers as there are chances to get stuck in traffic. In fact, via Metro the journey from New Ashok Nagar to IGI Airport is going to finish in just 20 minutes. In the near future, it will take approximately one hour from Modinagar to New Ashok Nagar.
The NCR Transport Corporation has decided to construct two new Metro stations in New Ashok Nagar and Modinagar on the Delhi-Meerut Corridor of Rapid Rail. There is a metro station at New Ashok Nagar. Hence, an interchange station will be built up there. Now the new Ashok Nagar will be the fourth junction point of Delhi-Meerut corridor.
So far, 16 stations were constructed between Modinagar to Sarai Kale Khan which covers the distance of 92 km, but the Central Consultative Review Committee (CRS), which has representatives from different states and departments, held a meeting in which they realize lack of one station in Delhi and Meerut. It is decided that 18 stations will be built on the Delhi-Meerut corridor.
