Every year, Delhi University students enjoy 50% reservation in the varsity’s post-graduate seats. DU’s academic committee decided to hold entrance exams for all PG admissions on Thursday.
So far, 50 percent PG seats were reserved for undergraduate students of DU that were enrolled on merit. The remaining seats were filled by conducting an entrance examination. DU undergraduate students can sit in that entrance examination. But now the committee is looking to conduct an entrance test for 45 PG courses in Delhi University.
So, it is being said that Delhi University (DU) may either do away with the system of reserving this proportion of seats for students, who have graduated from the university itself, or will make some other programmed to save this reservation for admission criteria to its postgraduate (PG) courses. The admission committee of DU formed to frame rules and policies for admission to academic session 2018-19 is facing a ‘dilemma’.
This way they are giving an open chance to the candidates who cannot make through the cut-offs because the admission would be entirely based on marks and preference. It would be given to the candidates who are very close to the last cut-off.
