The most wanted criminal of Delhi, named Sonu Dariyapur, has been arrested after 10 years of chase. Sonu has been accused for more than 10 murder cases, extortion and kidnapping. Also, there is a charge of killing a police officer and a rival gangster in a shootout, at the beginning of this year.
“It took hours of shootout in the outskirts of Delhi to chase him,” police said. He was driving to a friend’s home in Hyundai I20 car while he was caught. He started firing on police after he was stopped in one of the barricaded areas of Delhi. One police officer got injured, but the bullet proof jacket saved his life. Police have seized two weapons which Sonu was carrying along with him.
There was a sense of insecurity among people as there are plenty of murder cases and cases of extortion calls to businessmen in the capital state. Police had also offered a prize of Rs.5 lakhs on him, which is the highest price till date.
