The company, which has got the tender of this project, has been given strict deadlines to complete the whole work within the span of 9 months. The government has decided to put an overall expense of 41 million for this project.
Traffic at the ITO intersection road just seems like there is a sale in Delhi offering vehicles. The construction of Skywalk will ensure the easy travel on Sikandra Road, Tilak Marg, Mathura Road and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg for the pedestrians. For now people have to put their life at stake and walk on the roads along with the heavy traffic. Also, there exist plenty of government offices around ITO where thousands of people pass by on a daily basis.
A senior officer said ITO is on top of the list of places where a Skywalk construction project has been initiated by the government.
This Skywalk would be covering places near Connaught Place Delhi like Hans Bhawan, Pragati Maidan Metro Station, Plaza, Lady Irwin College, Hanuman Mandir (through ramp) and Supreme Court. In the hottest months of summer people suffer so much while travelling by foot. The idea of Skywalk is going to comfort all the pedestrians to reach the desired places without sweating horribly. Skywalks already exist in Mumbai and now this great idea is going to shift from Mumbai to Delhi.
