NEW DELHI: Increased fares at the Delhi Metro will be implemented from 10th October. Disputes are still going on between the Delhi and the Union Governments. On Monday, a special session of the Delhi Assembly has been called up, in which the issue of fare increment was discussed.
Also, the Aam Aadmi Party will pass the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan bill. No Doubt that the increment in Metro fares will enhance the profit in the business of ola and uber cabs in Delhi. Of course, people will prefer cabs as their minimum fare is also 60 rupees.
The Chief Minister of Delhi has written a letter to the Central Government and has submitted all the proposals. According to the letter, Kejriwal has demanded 1500 crores to be given to the Delhi government and 1500 crores from the Union Government to hand over to the metro and to stop the existing fare hike.
Vijender Gupta leader of opposition in the Delhi Assembly has targeted Kejriwal after his letter. He said Kejriwal is doing some politics with the help of Delhi Metro. The Delhi government is also a partner in the committee, which has increased the fares and it is decided by their consent.
