All four campuses of Ryan International School in Gurgaon will be remain closed on Monday and Tuesday under the orders of the government amid raging protests against the management over the murder of Class 2 student Pradhyumn Thakur in the Bhondsi campus last Friday.
Pradhyumn’s parents requested for this and Gurgaon’s deputy commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh accepted the request for the safety purpose of other students of the school. Uncertainty regarding the future of Bhondsi campus rose up as well.
The other two campuses are located in sector 41 and 31. Approximately 4,500 students study in the four campuses. The Bhondsi campus has near about 1,000 students. Many parents don’t want their children to go there and study because their anger has mashed up with fear also. However, they are worried about the impact that will be caused due to closing down of the school. It will affect the academic careers of the kids.
The Haryana government has recommended an investigation in the Bhondsi campus. The security of the campus has been increased and people continue to protest on Saturday and Sunday.
The parents of kids in junior classes won’t send their kids to study until & unless they are convinced with the campus security, students of senior classes are worried about effect on their studies due to the closure of the school. “It is good that the government is ordering the school’s closure for a while,” said Subodh Kumar, a parent. He further said, “Because my daughter is in Class 2, I could manage to withdraw her from school even if it meant losing a year. However, it won’t be possible to do the same with the students studying in 9th and 10th class. Their career is at risk.”
It would not be easy for parents to send their children to school under such crucial circumstances.
