Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had organized a GST Council meeting in which many important decisions were taken. Items involved in 27 categories have been set to a cheaper price now. At the same time, two big decisions have been taken for the consumers. PAN card will not be required to buy jewelry worth more than Rs. 50,000. Many things are cheaper in the 27 categories. It is definitely going to increase the percentage of shopping in Delhi.
Earlier, the GST percentage of these 7 items was 28%, but now the percentage has decreased to 18%.
- Dry mango slices, Khakhra, Sadi Chapati / Roti, Unbranded snacks, Unbranded Ayurvedic-Greek-Siddha and Homeopathic medicines, Paper vest or scrap and jay.
Earlier the percentage was 18% on these 2 items, but now it is 12%.
- Food packets, plastic waste, rubber waste, glass vest, biomass brick and e-waste to be distributed freely under government schemes. (There were 28% tax on some e-waste, but now it will be 5%)
GST percentage has been decreased from 12% to 5% on these 10 items.
- Poster color, modeling paste, paper clip, file fittings, flooring stone (leaving marble granite), diesel engine parts up to 15 HP and parts of water pumps. The tax rate on job work has been reduced from 12% to 5%.
PAN card will not be required to buy jewelry worth more than Rs. 50,000. According to the income tax law, PAN card is required to buy jewelry worth more than Rs 2 lakhs.
