On 11th November, The Supreme Court has ordered to ban the sale of firecrackers in Delhi for 22 days. But, the fact is there is no ban on burning of firecrackers. Therefore, vendors are trying various innovative methods of selling the stocks. Traders are now selling fire crackers online and also providing home deliveries. Not for these tantrums and tactics, but, the crackers ban in Delhi-NCR was intended to decrease the amount of pollution in Delhi.
The Delhi Police has issued a notice to ACP and police stations to stop such activities regarding the orders of the Supreme Court on the crackers ban in Delhi-NCR. The notice informs all the police officers to be as attentive as possible for crackers not to be sold anyhow. Strict actions should be taken if anything like this is seen anywhere in Delhi. A record of illegal crackers sale has to be shown to senior officers.
A senior police officer said that crackers vendors had already collected huge amount of stock before the Court orders. Now, it is very obvious for traders be aggressive on police actions as they’ll have to bear the loss. To inform the shopkeepers about these orders police stations are asked to meet them and inform them about the consequences if someone caught selling crackers. Selling crackers will set the traders to lawsuit under section 188 of IPC. Therefore, for betterment of our environment as a concerned citizen all of us should say no to crackers.
