As the people of Delhi are facing serious breathing problems, due to the contaminated air, now they have to deal with one more problem, which is the rise in the fares of vehicle parking. People are facing too much difficulty in vehicle parking. Due to the air pollution, the Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control Authority (EPCA), decided to increase the parking fee to four times.
People are parking their vehicles anywhere after the increment in the fares of parking, which leads to the traffic jam. There are 92 large parking spots under the SDMC, which include places like Nehru Place, Bhikaji Cama Place, and Saket.
An official said that although this decision was taken for a good cause, its effect was reversed. Significantly, after the pollution-haze in Delhi, the EPCA had ordered to increase parking charges and increase the fares of the Delhi Metro too.
NGT is constantly criticizing the Delhi Government on the issue of pollution. The NGT has once again rebuked the Delhi government for the rise in the level of pollution. On Tuesday, the NGT asked the Delhi Government “what you think is the Health Emergency is?”
NGT has said the government should have taken any action, when the pollution level increases from PM 2.5 to PM 10, they should have applied this rule within 48 hours without waiting for the orders from the NGT.
