Delhi: A 35-year-old poultry eggs wholesaler, Vicky Lal allegedly mixed poison in food and died along with his wife Lalita, aged 30 and six-year-old daughter. During the time of the tragedy, the son was at a neighbor’s home.
- Vicky was demanding the transfer of the second floor in his name from his father Kishori Lal his refusal led to arguments between them.
- The couple first poisoned their daughter and then consumed it themselves at their residence in south Delhi’s Govindpuri early on Saturday. Police are puzzling over the death of the couple’s daughter, Ranchi. Property dispute in the family was the main reason for suicide.
The police got a call from victim’s father who found the three of them unconscious on their first-floor room. The couple who were taken to a nearby hospital were declared dead. Whereas, the girl was taken to AIIMS Trauma Center by her uncle. The girl died during her on going treatment. The three-year-old son survived as he was out at the neighbor’s house to play.
To further investigate the incident, Chinmoy Biswal (DCP, Southeast) said an inquest under Section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code has been initiated. Doctors confirmed that, all three of them died because of the consumption of poisoned food.
