A 13-year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped by her neighbor in outer Delhi’s Rohini. Had the sexual assault clip not been circulated on social media, the parents of the victim would never have come to know about her being raped and blackmailed. According to reports the girl had gone to buy grocery from a store where the main accused spotted her and coaxed her into his house and assaulted her.
There were two other men as well who made the video of the crime and took pictures. They threatened the girl with dire consequences such as circulation of the video on social networks and posting them on porn sites along with killing her family if she reported the matter. After seeing the video when her mother inquired about the incident the girl narrated that she was forced into a room where three men raped her and made videos of the act as she resisted.
The mother approached the police soon after. The case was immediately registered and accused were arrested from their houses.
Police said the accused were leading a normal life and were busy with their everyday chores. The faces of these men were masqueraded in the videos.
The girl’s family has declared that the main accused’s family members were forcing them to withdraw the case and settle among themselves.
