Anshu Prakash, Delhi Chief Secretary on Tuesday has met the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and has filed a complaint against two ruling MLAs of Aam Adami Party for allegedly assaulting him. Prakash has declared that he was being assaulted by Prakash Jharwal and Ajay Dutt at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Monday evening.
However, Chief Minister’s officer present at the incident place has denied those allegations and said it was all incorrect blame. “Delhi CM office strongly denies allegations sited by the Chief Secretary. There was no such incident of assault or attempted assault by any of the AAP MLAs,” a statement from Kejriwal’s office said.
The IAS Association of Delhi has condemned the dismaying and shocking physical assault stating that “We condemn and protest the physical assault by MLAs of AAP on CM’s residence in fact at the presence and with consent of CM & Deputy CM. The dreadful physical assault meted out to the Head of the Administration of Delhi, amounting to threat to life and physical safety, is deplorable”.
The officers of IAS association had proclaimed that they will continue to work but will not attend any meeting beyond their office hours, and especially outside their office premises, until effective action is taken against those who were responsible for the incident.
Home minister Rajnath Singh said he has reported the incident to Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal and had assured the IAS officers’ body that the expected justice will be done in the case.
