Vallabhbhai Jhaver bhai Patel was popularly known as Sardar Patel, he was the first Deputy Prime Minister of India. He was born on 31 October 1875 and died on 15 December 1950. He was the leader of the Indian National Congress and a founding father of the republic India. He also played a vital role in the country’s struggle for independence. He was an Indian barrister.It was decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel with a charity run called ‘Run for Unity’. This race is being organized at the National Stadium. Approximately 15,000 people are expected to take part in this event. This event will cause traffic congestion around India Gate.
Delhi Police have sent out a traffic advisory for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, as the occasion is known. C-Hexagon of the India Gate will be closed between 6 AM and 8:30 AM. For all the travelers going from South Delhi to North Delhi and vice versa, police has suggested them to go from Ring Road to Sarai Kale Khan and then the IP flyover through Rajghat. One more preferable route is from Lala Lajpat Rai Marg to Mathura through to W-Point and A-Point.
Commuters who are coming from Aurobindo Marg can take Kamal Ataturk Marg and can move on to the Kautilya Marg, before taking Sardar Patel Marg en route to Mother Teresa Crescent. Those who are thinking to travel from Aurobindo Marg and the New Delhi Railway Station; they have been advised to travel through Prithvi Raj Chowk and Jan path.
To reach Connaught Place and Central Secretariat, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Bara Khamba Road and Mandi House are the most preferable routes. If you are thinking to cross Raj path, Man Singh Road and Rafi Marg are the roads available for it.
