The Indian festival season has started and has given a rapid rise in Delhi shopping and sales. For the betterment of our society and environment Government has proposed a new rule to monitor the pollution rise. As it seems like there is a sale in Delhi offering pollution for free.This Diwali the air and sound pollution is going to be monitored within every three hours in three shifts. However, to clarify the difference in pollution figures the monitoring will start a week before Diwali i.e. October 12 to October 19.

Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued guidelines to the state pollution control boards all over the country including Delhi-NCR. The guidelines consist of 17 pages. Observation of air and noise pollution will be held by all the state pollution boards’ right from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and 10:00 pm to 6:00 am on the day of Diwali.The government has also decided to run a campaign for spreading awareness that will appeal not to burn firecrackers on this Diwali with to use of videos and attractive anime cartoons.

Additional Director of CPCB said that monitoring makes us eligible to tackle the situation caused by pollution.
Along with these guidelines CPCB has sent a report to state pollution control boards which contain a description of adverse impact of pollution emitted by crackers on health. PiplDelhi team wishes you to have a Happy and safe Diwali .
