NEW DELHI: Diwali is about to come and you must be planning to go for shopping in Delhi. But, Selling of firecrackers in Delhi NCR is completely banned. Though, the Supreme Court has decided to re-hear the case again on Friday. The court says that decision will be taken after considering all the aspects. The petitioner has appealed to continue the proposal to ban firecrackers because of the poisonous environment in Delhi-NCR. If people will burn cracker on Diwali, then there will be enormously bad effect on the environment as Delhi is currently very much polluted right now.
On 11th November 2016, the Supreme Court had completely banned the selling of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR region. Many places near Delhi are very much polluted by the poisonous smoke emitted by factories and vehicles.
This case was held on Thursday by Justice AK Sikri and Justice Ashok Bhushan’s bench. Advocate Shankar Narayanan appealed that last year’s order should be continued. The bench said that the order was given last year when the environment was highly polluted. The court asked the petitioner’s lawyer, “What do you want now?” They said that the ban order should be continued, but the Bench said that since the situation has changed quite a lot. The court will decide the order after checking all the situations and aspects in this case.
