On Thursday, Former Union Minister ND Tiwari was admitted to Max Hospital in Saket, because of brain stroke said his son, Rohit Shekhar Tiwari.
He is currently admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital. As per Max Hospital, the 91 year old ex-minister is in extremely critical condition. Rohit stated this morning that his father fell unconscious while having tea. A team of doctors is handling him. ND Tiwari has been elected thrice as former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh in the following years: 1976–77, 1984–85, 1988–89. Later he became Chief Minister of Uttarakhand during 2002–2007. He was selected by Mrs. Indra Ghandi in replacement of Veer Bahadur Singh to become the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. In the time span of 1986-87 he was elected as external affairs minister while Rajiv Gandhi’s jurisdiction was in the role. Later ND Tiwari was assigned as the governor of Andhra Pradesh from 2007-09 but had to resign due to a ‘sex scandal’. His son joined the BJP in 2017 when he left the Congress.
A gathering constituting Yogi Adityanath CM of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav- former Chief Ministers of the state and Akhilesh Yadav also called upon to examine his condition.
