Hospitals provide facilities of hostels in Delhi but, all those doctors who live in hospital residency of AIIMS are suffering from high mental disorders and strictly needs counseling. Doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences are disturbed by the burden of workload to such an extent that they enormously need counseling sessions to stabilize their mind. Resident Doctors of AIIMS Association has written a letter to the Director of AIIMS addressing that the counselors should be appointed for the doctors and for the medical students as well. A helpline number should be available to them at each hour of the day. Every year one or two suicidal cases occur in AIIMS. It is necessary to take an action against this so that no one has to quit their life.
At least five counselors should be appointed in AIIMS. Vice President of RDA Dr. Jawahar Singh said that there are many people who come here from different regions for work purpose or for study purpose their lifestyles, cultures are different. It takes time to mix up into a city like Delhi and they may have to go through some problems. To overcome these problems, it is essential that a counselor should be issued to prevent such suicidal activities at AIIMS.
