A five-year-old girl was raped in the classroom of Tagore Public School in east Delhi’s Shahdara allegedly by the school peon. After the investigation, police stated that the accused who has been working since three years in the school, has taken the girl inside a empty room at 11:45 am, when he was walking down through the corridors after handing over the lunchboxes to the teachers. He also mentally tortured the girl of dire consequences.
The crime was spotted when the girl complained to her mother about the bleeding and the pain in private parts through which she was suffering at that time. She was taken to the hospital immediately where a medical examination confirmed sexual assault, the police said.
The girl was sent for a counseling session, where she revealed that she was assaulted by “a man wearing a cap” and also described his physical attributes. After considering the girl’s statement police has arrested a 40 year old man, who previously worked as a security guard at the same school.
The Delhi government has ordered a magisterial probe into the case. The probe team will be headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Vivek Vihar and the team will have to submit its report within three days. The girl’s uncle has raised his voice that “why the school had employed the accused without the proper verification, The Delhi Police is yet to take action against the school. We want strict action against the school and those in-charge at the time,” he said.
