Road accidents in Delhi are rapidly on rise. Accidents due to imprudent attitude of drivers can also be considered as the rising crime in Delhi. This time the accident occurred at 5 am on Sunday near metro pillar number 259 in Sarita Vihar where a truck moving speedily knocked down three bike riders on the road and unfortunately killed one of them. Leaving the truck behind, the driver along with his helper escaped from the spot.
The victim who died is recognized as Sujeet Kumar. While the other two bikers Upendra Pandit and Nagender got injured and are under medical observation. Romil Baaniya DCP (South East) concluded the statement and registered a case. “The truck was reported to hit the bikes from the back side. Pandit and Sujeet got crushed beneath the wheels of the truck. The truck dragged both of them a few meters ahead before it stopped” said a police officer.
The victims were taken to Apollo Hospital by a PCR van which found them injured. Two of them were cured after getting admitted to the hospital, but, Sujit was declared dead.
