Near about 334 coaching centers has been identified as illegal in the capital’s Mukherjee Nagar, Vijay Nagar and Lawrence Road. The notice has been issued to them. Apart from this, verification of more than 200 coaching centers is underway. Unauthorized running coaching centers will be closed after the completion of the process. Plenty of coaching centers had already been sealed by the MCD.
These areas have been marked as hubs of IAS coaching centers from the last several years. Mukherjee Nagar is also known as the ‘Factory of IAS’. They also provide coaching for competitive examinations. According to a senior officer of North MCD, 98 percent of the coaching centers have utilized the space of residential area. Some centers are running in commercial buildings, which is totally against the law. MCD is planning to seal it. Thousands of students are troubled by the closure of these coaching centers. The closure will affect their local business. Those who had rented their property to the coaching centers in Mukherjee Nagar are very much worried about the loss from, which they will be going to suffer. Most of the residents of the area are quite happy with the removal of coaching centers. However, some believe that the removal of coaching centers will affect the employment of thousands of people.
