Street crimes are at peak in Delhi. Igor Polikha is a Ukrainian Ambassador who lives in Vasant Vihar at the Ukrainian Embassy. On Wednesday, after having a walk at the embassy, he along with his driver came to the Red Fort at Chandni Chowk, one of the best places to see in Delhi. He went to the Anguri Bagh temple Around 9.15 am and started capturing the Red Fort from his iPhone, as he is very fond of photography. Igor saw a guy present there and asked the guy to click his picture, who at first, well done the job of photography for Igor but started keeping an eye on him. At one moment when Igora was capturing more pictures, that unknown guy snatched his iphone and fled. Igor had followed him, but couldn’t catch.
The ambassador dropped an email to the Home Ministry and Police Commissioner, Amulya Patnaik about the poor law and order in Delhi and also reported Red Fort becoming one of the most haunted places in Delhi for tourists. After this incident with Ukrainian ambassador, Delhi police is very much panic stricken.
Apart from the Northern District Police, a special cell and crime branch has been called upon to catch that robber. So far, more than 100 suspected robbers around the Red Fort have been questioned in custody, but there is no clue about the that unknown thief.
The police is trying to identify the robber with the help of the CCTV footage obtained from Red Fort, the famous historical monument in Delhi.
